Resin fixings exert no bursting force so they work close to edges in soft or perforated brick and in high load applications. The cured resin bonds the full embedment length rather than gripping at one point.
Why do resin fixings fail if the hole is dusty?
Resin bonds to whatever it touches first. In a dusty hole that is a loose layer of drilling dust not the masonry so the anchor pulls out at a fraction of its rating. Brush and blow the hole clean before injecting.
