Frequently Asked Questions
What grit sandpaper should I use?
Work through the grits with coarse 60 to 80 for heavy removal 120 for general smoothing and 240 for fine finishing before paint. Our mixed packs cover the sequence for wood metal paint and filler in one purchase.
What is a flap disc for?
A flap disc grinds and finishes in one step on an angle grinder. The overlapping zirconium abrasive flaps dress welds remove paint and blend metal surfaces smoother than a grinding disc with far better control.
Why clean drilled holes before resin fixing?
Dust left in the hole is the main cause of resin anchor failure because resin bonds to the dust not the masonry. Wire hole cleaning brushes and a blow out pump clear the hole so the fixing reaches full strength.
When should I use nylon instead of wire brushes?
Nylon cup brushes prepare surfaces where steel wire would scratch or remove too much such as light deburring polishing and finishing on softer metals and plastics. Steel wire remains the choice for rust scale and heavy paint.
