Frequently Asked Questions

What anchor should I use for concrete?

Match the anchor to the load. Wall plugs handle everyday brackets shield and sleeve anchors carry heavy fixtures drop in anchors suspend threaded rod overhead and resin anchor studs deliver the highest loads without expansion stress near edges.

How do drop in anchors work?

Drill a hole insert the anchor and set it with a setting tool so the internal wedge expands the body against the concrete. The internal thread then accepts threaded rod or bolts making them the standard fixing for suspending services from slabs and soffits.

When should I use resin anchors instead of expansion anchors?

Choose resin when fixing close to edges into soft or hollow masonry or for the highest loads. Chemical fixing spreads load through the bond line rather than expansion pressure so the substrate stays uncracked and the anchor holds in materials expansion anchors cannot grip.

How do I fix heavy items to dot and dab walls?

Use Corefix fixings which pass a steel tube through the plasterboard and air gap into the block behind. That bridge carries the load of TVs radiators and cabinets which ordinary plasterboard fixings on dot and dab walls cannot safely support.

What do wall plug colours mean?

Colours indicate size. Yellow plugs take the smallest screws red suits mid size gauges and brown handles larger screws. Our Deligo mega bucket kits pair each plug colour with matching screws so the right combination is always to hand.
